Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua delivered a dominant performance Saturday morning, stopping YouTube-star-turned-boxer Jake Paul via sixth-round knockout during their Miami heavyweight bout.
Though Paul exceeded expectations by surviving the early rounds, Joshua’s superior power proved decisive. The British boxer floored Paul twice in a chaotic fifth round before sealing victory.
Joshua unleashed devastating punches in the sixth round, forcing the referee to halt the contest. Post-fight, Joshua immediately challenged longtime rival Tyson Fury: “Put down your Twitter fingers and put on gloves. Come fight me.”
Paul revealed he suffered a broken jaw during the bout. The WBA’s No. 14-ranked cruiserweight declined to name future opponents and announced a boxing hiatus following his second professional loss.
Despite the defeat, Paul boasts high-profile victories including wins over former champions. He defeated 58-year-old Mike Tyson in Netflix’s 2024 boxing debut and outpointed Julio Cesar Chávez Jr. this past June.
