Sani Shinkafi, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Zamfara State, has urgently appealed to President Bola Tinubu and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda to address escalating party divisions. He warned the unresolved crisis threatens the party’s prospects in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Shinkafi issued his warning in a recent statement, expressing concern that deepening tensions among key stakeholders could fracture the party. The Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council member cautioned that without immediate reconciliation efforts, the APC risks repeating mistakes that cost it electoral victory in 2023.
The party chieftain specifically urged all leaders—including Defence Minister of State Bello Matawalle—to set aside personal differences. He emphasized collective action is needed to reunite the party’s fragmented support base across Zamfara.
“All leaders must unite to rebuild our party, including former governors and serving ministers,” Shinkafi declared. “Progress demands cooperation, not competition. A divided house cannot stand—we must break this cycle of internal rivalry.”
Shinkafi concluded with a stark warning: Persistent factionalism could hand victory to opposition parties if left unaddressed. He stressed that rebuilding trust among members must become the APC’s immediate priority.
