Popular filmmaker Funke Akindele has urged fans to stop recording and sharing clips from her latest movie, ‘Behind The Scenes’. She warned that such actions could severely harm the film and everyone involved in its production.
Akindele clarified that recording any part of the film in cinemas, even for short durations, amounts to piracy. This act directly undermines the entire project.

Protecting a N1 Billion Investment
She voiced deep concern over the substantial investment made in the movie. Unauthorised recordings, she noted, could hinder its success and result in significant financial losses.
The actress appealed to fans to support the film responsibly. This means watching it in cinemas without filming or sharing scenes online. She encouraged moviegoers to take photos only at designated cinema display points. Fans should share their reviews instead of movie clips.
Akindele emphasized that respecting this rule supports the immense effort, time, and resources invested in the film’s creation.
‘Behind The Scenes’ delves into the emotional pressure, personal sacrifices, and struggles often associated with fame and success.
Akindele’s Passionate Plea Against Piracy
In a passionate plea, Akindele wrote, “Please don’t record. We spent over a billion on that project. Don’t let me run into debt. Please stop posting the recordings; it is piracy.” She directly urged, “Say no to direct and indirect piracy.”
She continued by expressing her excitement for the film’s cinema run. However, she reiterated her appeal, asking fans not to record any scenes from #BehindTheScenes. “Recording or posting clips, even short ones, is also piracy,” she stressed. Akindele suggested taking pictures at roll-up banners and sharing reviews instead. She implored fans to spread this message to support the “hard work behind this masterpiece.”
