Senator Jonah Jang, a former Governor of Plateau State, has firmly dismissed recent claims. These claims suggested he was about to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
His media consultant, Clinton Garuba, issued a statement on Thursday. He described the reports as unfounded and mischievous. Garuba stated they were a deliberate attempt to stir political tension.
Garuba reaffirmed Jang’s unwavering commitment to the PDP. He stressed that the former governor remains a dedicated and loyal member. Jang’s political convictions, Garuba insisted, “have not changed.”
He added that Senator Jang “has no intention, contemplation, or reason to leave the PDP for the APC or any other political platform.”
The media consultant also addressed claims about Governor Caleb Mutfwang. Some insinuations suggested Jang knew of Mutfwang’s alleged plan to defect from the PDP. Garuba clarified that such ideas “existed only in the imagination of those attempting to create tension in the state’s political space.”
“Dragging Jang’s name into speculative political narratives is unnecessary,” Garuba noted. He further described these attempts as misleading and entirely baseless.
Garuba emphasized that the former Governor’s focus remains clear. He supports the stability of the PDP. He also works to strengthen democratic institutions. Furthermore, Jang promotes unity among stakeholders and citizens across Plateau State.
He urged the public, party members, and the media to ignore these destabilizing rumours. Garuba called for responsible political engagement and accuracy in public discourse.
