Nigerian skitmaker Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel, widely known as Shank Comics, has addressed a recent online controversy. An old social media post of his recently resurfaced. It praised the ‘mindset’ of American rapper Diddy. This comment sparked significant backlash across various social media platforms.

Amid the growing public criticism, Shank swiftly clarified his position. He made a direct post on his official X handle. There, he stated unequivocally that he does not support Diddy in any capacity.

Shank explained his earlier social media comment. He described it as a “misguided attempt.” He said he was trying to reference a villain character from a movie, not Diddy personally.

He openly admitted that the post was irresponsible. Shank emphasized that he neither admires, defends, nor supports Diddy. This stance is especially firm given the severe allegations currently faced by the American music mogul.

Shank further added that the accusations against Diddy are horrific. He stressed that anyone found guilty of such disturbing behaviour should face all deserved consequences.

In his clarifying statement on X, Shank wrote, “To clarify any misunderstanding: My post about Diddy was a misguided attempt at referencing a villain in a ‘movie’.”

He further acknowledged the error, stating, “It was irresponsible.”

Shank continued, “To be absolutely clear, I do not admire, support, or defend him in any way.”

Condemning the nature of the allegations, he added, “The allegations against him are horrific, and he deserves every consequence that comes from them.”

He then stressed, “What he’s been accused of (and convicted of) is unacceptable and has no place in our industry or anywhere else.”

Shank concluded his statement by affirming his commitment: “Victims deserve justice. I’m committed to doing better and using my platform responsibly.”
