Her early years were spent in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. She lived with her maternal grandmother during this period. There, she practiced Islamic teachings and followed the routines expected in a Muslim household.
Her story took a new turn when she later moved to Ikorodu, Lagos. She then lived with her father’s parents. It was there that she reunited with an old friend. This friend frequently invited her to church.
Allyson explained that this period exposed her to a new environment and fresh ideas. A different way of worship unfolded before her.
She also spoke warmly about her Islamic background. Allyson stated she has never hidden her birth name, Rasheedat. As a child, she looked up the meaning of the name. She loved what it represented.
While narrating her various moves between homes, she explained a key point. Her spiritual journey was shaped by the people she lived with. In Ijebu-Ode, she embraced the Muslim way of life. In Ikorodu, she found herself surrounded by Christians and naturally joined their activities.
According to Allyson, she has explored different beliefs over time. This exploration occurred through reading and personal experiences.
She added that for her, discovering God’s will is paramount. This is more important than strictly adhering to one religion.
