Fulham manager Marco Silva says his club has not yet discussed a permanent deal for Samuel Chukwueze with AC Milan. This comes despite the Nigerian winger’s strong start at Craven Cottage.
Chukwueze joined Fulham on loan during the recent transfer deadline day. Their agreement includes an option to buy. Reports suggest this fee could range from £22m to £26m. The 26-year-old has made an instant impact. He is also reportedly open to remaining at Fulham beyond this season.
Silva Downplays Urgency Over Deal
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Silva downplayed any immediate need for talks. He suggested Fulham holds a strong position in the deal.
“There have been no talks,” Silva confirmed. “We have protected ourselves with the current deal.” He praised Chukwueze’s contributions. “He has been very good for us,” Silva added. “We hope he continues this form in the next games. We do have an option to buy him.”
Chukwueze’s Impact and Crystal Palace Focus
The Nigerian international boasts an impressive record. He has scored two goals and provided three assists. This comes in just seven Premier League appearances. This tally includes a brace against Manchester City. That dramatic match ended in a 5-4 defeat earlier this week.
Fulham’s home record this season is strong. They have only lost to Manchester City and Arsenal at home. Chukwueze believes this solid home form will be crucial. They host Crystal Palace on Sunday.
“We are good in our home games,” Chukwueze told the club’s official website. “Since I joined, we have only lost to two big teams.” He named Manchester City and Arsenal. “Besides those, we haven’t lost any home games,” he emphasized. “We are strong in that aspect, and we are performing well.”
