Former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has accused prominent politicians of isolating themselves in luxury while ordinary Nigerians endure poverty. He delivered this critique during his 69th birthday celebration in Kano.
Kwankwaso lamented that politicians who relocated to Abuja have abandoned citizens to hardship. He issued a spiritual warning to these leaders:
God will not leave them.
The statesman highlighted worsening insecurity across Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Niger, and Plateau. Banditry and violence predominantly affect impoverished rural communities. Kwankwaso demanded immediate protective measures for vulnerable citizens.
He called for policies addressing economic suffering. Leaders must prioritize public welfare over self-enrichment. Kwankwaso emphasized three critical needs:
- Poverty relief programs
- Educational access for youth
- Enhanced security nationwide
Regarding 2027 elections, Kwankwaso stated the NNPP remains open to alliances. He stressed his party’s commitment to citizen welfare through a powerful declaration:
The poor must feel comfort. Our youth need education. Lives are being lost daily.
