A Nigerian man recently criticized a church. He observed them using a Point of Sale (POS) machine. They collected offerings during a service.
The video quickly gained traction online.

Church Adopts POS for Offering Collection
The widely shared video showed a church staff member. They assisted an elderly woman. She paid her offering via the POS device.
She received a receipt after her transaction. The attendant then moved on.

Many online users expressed concern. They viewed this as church commercialization. Some felt churches were becoming businesses.
One user, @nightprogram_, stated: “Church is a business. True worship resides in the heart.”
@Da__preye commented humorously. “Jesus must be weary of some churches.”
Conversely, @kenny_pablo argued. Tithe payment is biblical, regardless of method. Many people use POS for payments now. This includes social events. No one is forced to attend a church. People can choose not to if they disagree.
@dele003 noted this practice isn’t new. He emphasized that church contributions are voluntary.
