The Rivers State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This decision highlights the Assembly’s support for the President.
Lawmakers commended his leadership style. They also praised his significant contributions to the development of Rivers State. The vote was adopted during the 37th Legislative Sitting. A motion, jointly signed by all 26 lawmakers, preceded the decision.
Commitment to Inclusive Governance
The House specifically pointed to President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance. They noted his appointment of several Rivers indigenes to key federal offices. This, they said, demonstrates his dedication to the state.
Leading the debate, Hon. Major Jack, the Leader of the House, lauded President Tinubu. He praised the President for maintaining policies that have brought economic benefits. These benefits extend to both the state and its local governments.
Jack described President Tinubu’s approach to leadership as “fatherly.” He added that ongoing federal projects and strategic appointments are positively impacting communities across Rivers State.
Speaker Endorses Tinubu’s Vision
The Speaker of the House, Martin Chike Amaewhule, also shared his remarks. He characterized President Tinubu as a compassionate father of the nation. Amaewhule affirmed that the President has kept his promises to the people of Rivers State.
He highlighted that 39 sons and daughters of the state have received federal appointments. This development, Amaewhule stated, underscores President Tinubu’s confidence in Rivers indigenes.
Support for Renewed Hope Agenda and Second Term Call
Following thorough deliberations, the House resolved to fully support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Lawmakers also committed to grassroots sensitisation and mobilisation. These efforts aim to strengthen public support for Tinubu’s leadership.
Furthermore, the Assembly encouraged President Tinubu to seek a second term in office. They insisted that Rivers State has experienced tangible gains under his current administration.
