The Rivers State House of Assembly has officially backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, passing a vote of confidence on his administration. Lawmakers on Wednesday praised his leadership style. They also acknowledged his significant contributions to the state’s development.
This confidence vote took place during the 37th Legislative Sitting. It followed a motion. All 26 lawmakers jointly signed this motion, demonstrating unified support.
The Assembly specifically highlighted President Tinubu’s dedication to inclusive governance. They noted his appointment of several Rivers indigenes. These individuals now hold key federal offices. This shows his commitment to the state.
Lawmakers Laud Tinubu’s Leadership
Hon. Major Jack, the House Leader, spearheaded the debate on the motion. He commended President Tinubu for consistently implementing policies. These policies, he stated, have brought significant economic benefits. Both the state and its local governments have gained from them.
Jack described the President’s leadership as ‘fatherly.’ He noted that federal projects are currently underway. Strategic appointments are also being made. These efforts are already positively impacting communities throughout Rivers State.
Speaker Martin Chike Amaewhule also shared his perspective. He called President Tinubu a ‘compassionate father of the nation.’ Amaewhule affirmed that the President has fulfilled his promises to the Rivers people.
The Speaker highlighted the impressive number of appointments. So far, 39 Rivers indigenes have secured positions of trust within the Federal Government. This development, he explained, clearly demonstrates President Tinubu’s confidence in the people of Rivers State.

After thorough deliberations, the House unanimously resolved to fully support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Furthermore, lawmakers committed to grassroots sensitization. They will also undertake mobilization efforts. Their goal is to strengthen public support for President Tinubu’s leadership.
Significantly, the Assembly encouraged President Tinubu to seek a second term in office. They emphasized the tangible gains Rivers State has experienced. These benefits, they stated, came under his current administration.
