Catholic priest Fr. Kelvin Ugwu has publicly criticized the relationship between businessman Ned Nwoko and actress Regina Daniels, describing it as a transaction driven by greed rather than genuine matrimony. The clergyman contends the couple has no legitimate grounds to complain about their marital struggles.
Through a social media statement, Fr. Ugwu asserted that Nwoko specifically sought a virgin partner while Daniels prioritized wealth accumulation. He emphasized that both individuals entered the union with clearly defined objectives that were ultimately fulfilled.
The priest referenced Nwoko’s interview where he declared non-virgins “a turn-off” to his royal heritage. He also cited Daniels’ viral statement about preferring to “cry in a Lamborghini” rather than experience poverty. Ugwu characterized their compatibility as purely transactional.
“Ned obtained the virginity he demanded while Regina secured the wealth she desired,” Fr. Ugwu stated. “They received exactly what they bargained for in this arrangement.”
The clergyman maintained that labeling their relationship a marriage constitutes a fundamental misuse of the term. He argued that while their union bears superficial resemblance to marriage, it lacks the essential qualities of authentic matrimony.
“What exists between them is not marriage but a contractual agreement where both parties secured their primary objectives,” Fr. Ugwu concluded. “True marriage would protest this misrepresentation.”
