The Rivers State House of Assembly passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday. Lawmakers praised his leadership style. They also commended his contributions to the state’s development.
This vote of confidence came during the 37th Legislative Sitting. It followed a motion. All 26 lawmakers jointly signed the motion.
The House highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance. This was evident through his appointment of several Rivers indigenes. They now hold key federal offices.
Assembly Lauds Tinubu’s Leadership and Federal Appointments
Hon. Major Jack, the House Leader, led the debate on the motion. He praised President Tinubu. Jack noted that the President sustained policies. These policies brought economic benefits to Rivers State. They also benefited local governments.
Jack described the President’s leadership as fatherly. He added that federal projects are ongoing. Strategic appointments are also being made. These efforts are already impacting Rivers communities.
Speaker Martin Chike Amaewhule also spoke. He called President Tinubu a compassionate father of the nation. Amaewhule stated that Tinubu kept his promises to the Rivers people.
Amaewhule noted a key development. Thirty-nine Rivers indigenes have received federal appointments. These are positions of trust. This shows Tinubu’s confidence in the state’s people.
Lawmakers Pledge Support and Urge Re-election
After deliberations, the House resolved to fully back the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Lawmakers also agreed to begin grassroots sensitisation. This will mobilize public support. The goal is to strengthen backing for Tinubu’s leadership.
Furthermore, the Assembly encouraged President Tinubu to seek a second term. They insisted Rivers State has seen tangible gains. These gains came under the current administration.
