Former Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has vehemently denied recent claims. An online publication alleged his resignation from the Federal Executive Council. It suggested he opposed US and President Bola Tinubu’s military actions in Nigerian forests. Badaru has strongly refuted these assertions.
In a formal statement, Badaru labeled the report as “malicious, false, and deliberately mischievous.” He insisted he never made such a comment. This applies whether directly or through any representative.
He further stated that these fabricated claims aimed to harm his reputation. They sought to strain his relationship with President Tinubu. The allegations also intended to create unnecessary controversy surrounding national security matters.
Badaru emphasized that his true reasons for resignation were formally shared with the President. Credible media platforms widely reported these reasons. He warned that any different narrative is “a complete falsehood engineered by mischief makers.”
The former minister reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu. He also restated his commitment to Nigeria’s peace and stability. Badaru pledged ongoing support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This support is especially vital ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Badaru served as Minister of Defence until his recent departure. He assured the public of his continued dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
