The founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has offered to assist in securing the release of Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Maharaj Ji has set specific conditions for his intervention.
Maharaj Ji revealed these requirements during an interview. The discussion took place on his temple’s internal radio broadcast on Wednesday.

He emphasized that any sincere effort to free Kanu must address two key issues. These include ending all Biafra radio broadcasts. It also means halting the sit-at-home order across the South-East region.
A Political Solution is Essential for Kanu’s Freedom
The spiritual leader maintained that Kanu still faces terrorism charges. These allegations typically carry a death sentence under current laws.
He explained Kanu’s survival is “by grace alone.” Therefore, a political settlement, not legal battles, offers the sole path to his release.
“Anyone accused of terrorism faces a death sentence,” he stated. “Kanu’s escape so far is sheer grace. His release must come through political means.”
Maharaj Ji stressed that those seeking Kanu’s pardon must act decisively. They should not approach the matter without tangible actions.
“They must not approach this empty-handed. They should stop the Biafra radio broadcasts, wherever they originate.”
Broadening Support for a Political Resolution
Maharaj Ji joins other prominent figures advocating for a political resolution. Abia State Governor Alex Otti and activist Omoyele Sowore are among them. They all seek an end to this long-standing case.
He urged South-East residents to remain optimistic. He confirmed ongoing efforts to secure Kanu’s liberty.
Governor Otti previously visited Kanu in Sokoto prison. Later, he met with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja. Their discussion focused on options for Kanu’s potential release.
