The Accord Party has extended an open invitation to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. This invitation is for his 2026 re-election ambition. It follows Adeleke’s reported exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He cited “protracted leadership crises and internal instability” as reasons for his departure.
Dele Oladeji, the Lagos State Chairman of Accord Party, confirmed this development. He spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday. Oladeji emphasized the party’s anticipation and readiness to welcome Governor Adeleke.
Waiting for His Formal Declaration
“We are waiting for his formal declaration,” Oladeji stated. “That is what we can say for now. We eagerly await when he will formally declare for Accord.” He affirmed the party’s open doors, stressing their preparedness. “In Accord, we are ready for him. Whenever he decides to step in, we are set to receive him.”
Accord: A Haven of Stability
Oladeji presented Accord as a genuinely stable political platform. He insisted it offers the stability Adeleke reportedly seeks ahead of the polls. “Accord is a very stable and sanitised political platform,” he explained. “We operate without factions. We also have no godfathers.”
He guaranteed a peaceful environment for new entrants. “Any candidate who joins us is sure of a peaceful and dependable structure. This guarantee extends until 2027.” He highlighted the party’s appeal to serious office seekers. The absence of internal wrangling, godfather politics, or structural confusion makes Accord highly attractive.
Commitment to Success
Oladeji reaffirmed Accord’s full support and readiness to deploy party machinery. “If he decides to step in,” Oladeji stated, “we will be ready to work with him. We will diligently ensure his success in the upcoming 2026 governorship election.”
