A highly anticipated international friendly between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Egypt has been confirmed. This exciting clash will take place at the iconic Cairo International Stadium on Sunday, December 14th.
The fixture serves as a crucial preparatory game for both nations ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Egypt’s Squad and Training Plans
Egypt’s national team coach, Hossam Hassan, has announced a 28-man provisional squad. This signals the start of an intensive training period for the Pharaohs. Local players are expected to report for training on Wednesday.
Key overseas stars will join the squad next week. This contingent includes Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, Mostafa Mohamed, Hamdy Fathy, and Ibrahim Adel. They will arrive after fulfilling their club commitments.
Semi Ajayi’s Club Commitments for Nigeria
For the Super Eagles, discussions are ongoing regarding defender Semi Ajayi. His club, Hull City, is keen to retain him for a bit longer before his AFCON duties.
Ajayi was initially expected to join the Super Eagles camp in Morocco. This was planned for after Hull’s December 10th match against Wrexham. It would have left him with only two games for the Tigers.
However, his recent performance against Stoke City has complicated matters. He scored his first goal for Hull and earned the Man of the Match award. This superb display has made Hull City determined to keep him for an additional fixture.
Talks are reportedly underway with officials in Lagos. Hull hopes to keep Ajayi until after their December 14th match against Millwall. Following this, he would fly to join the national team.
FIFA regulations might allow players to depart on or after December 15th. This arrangement could permit Ajayi to play in the Millwall fixture.
