The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made a strong vow. It will protect the legacy of former Governor Godwin Obaseki. The party stated that those who contribute nothing to Edo State will not undermine his achievements.
Dan Osa-Ogbegie, the PDP Publicity Secretary, released a statement on Tuesday. He affirmed the party’s full support. They stand behind all programmes and policies Obaseki executed in office.
The PDP insisted on Obaseki’s courageous leadership. He shunned the predatory demands of political godfathers. Osa-Ogbegie stated, “We will not let his legacy be undermined. This applies to those who added nothing to Edo’s progress.”
He added, “We support him because he governed courageously. He protected Edo’s treasury. Obaseki uplifted Edo’s people. He resisted the predatory demands of political godfathers.” Osa-Ogbegie asserted, “History will vindicate him. Edo people already acknowledge this.”
PDP Calls on President Tinubu to Intervene
However, the party urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He should control members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.
The PDP alleged problematic conduct from State Governor Monday Okpebholo and his team. This behavior, they claim, is overheating the polity. It could cause a major crisis if not stopped quickly.
The PDP maintains that APC members’ politics stems from bitterness, not service. It is driven by vendetta, not vision.
