Popular reality TV star, Cynthia Nwadiora, widely known as Ceec, recently spoke about public perception of her personality. She revealed that many fans often confuse her confidence with arrogance.
Ceec explained that navigating life in Nigeria presents a unique challenge. People often adopt negative labels without truly getting to know an individual.
She noted that once someone is branded negatively, many readily accept it. They do so without even interacting with the person in question.
This tendency, Ceec added, significantly impacts how her brand is perceived. Many assume she is arrogant, often before any personal interaction.
She believes anyone who meets her in person will see a different side. They would then likely change their opinion about her online persona.
Ceec stated she always strives to provide a clearer understanding of herself during personal encounters. Her aim is for people to leave with a more accurate impression.
Speaking further, Ceec lamented the Nigerian tendency to accept negative narratives. “If someone says ‘Oh, this person is bad,’ people don’t wait to experience you,” she explained. “They just say, ‘Oh yeah, she’s a bad person.’”
She emphasized that this prevents people from truly knowing her. Consequently, many often misinterpret her confidence as arrogance.
However, Ceec firmly believes a personal meeting changes perceptions. “You cannot meet me or experience me and go home saying I’m arrogant,” she asserted. “You would definitely have a change of mindset about me.”
This misjudgment has been quite costly for her. “I hear people say, ‘Oh, that one, she’s just arrogant,’” she recounted. “They don’t even know me, but that’s what they believe.”
Despite these challenges, Ceec remains hopeful. “One thing I’ve tried,” she concluded, “is to ensure you don’t go home feeling that way. This happens when you meet me and give me the grace to know me.”
