Damian Chinaemerem Okoligwe, a 400-level student, received his sentence. He was convicted for the 2023 killing of his former girlfriend, Justina.
The Tragic Death of Justina
Justina was a 20-year-old Biochemistry student. She was in her 300-level. She disappeared after visiting Damian’s apartment in Ozuoba in October 2023. The investigation found her dismembered body. Damian was then arrested. This case sparked nationwide concern. Many demanded justice.
The legal process was extensive. It included many hearings and witness statements. The court finally reached its decision today. Damian Okoligwe received the maximum possible sentence.

“Today, the court found him guilty of Justina Otuene’s murder. We hope her soul can now rest peacefully. This judgment will also deter youths. It shows quick riches through shortcuts lead to ruin.”
