The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled Hon. Leke Abejide. The party’s National Working Committee (NWC) confirmed this decision. It followed a recommendation from the Kogi State Executive Committee. Abejide was expelled for various acts of indiscipline.
The NWC announced this development on Thursday. The meeting took place at the ADC National Headquarters in Abuja.
The ADC reiterated its commitment to discipline. The party stated it would not tolerate indiscipline from its members. It aims to build a party founded on discipline, character, and integrity.
Additionally, the party issued further directives. It instructed state leaders to fill all vacant positions. These include roles at ward, local government, and state executive levels. This must align with previously issued transition guidelines. The timeline for upcoming congresses will be announced shortly.
Hon. Leke Abejide represents the Yagba Federal Constituency. He is a member of the House of Representatives. Abejide had previously rejected the ADC leadership. This was under former Senate President David Mark. This past defiance may have contributed to his expulsion.
