Arsenal winger Noni Madueke is keenly looking forward to Sunday’s Premier League encounter. The Gunners will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Madueke, 23, showcased excellent form recently. He helped Arsenal secure a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich. This UEFA Champions League match took place at the Emirates Stadium. Madueke also found the net during the game.
“I cannot wait for the match!” Madueke told TNT Sports. “You go eight weeks without the thing you love most. So, you are incredibly eager to be back on the pitch.”
He continued, “It’s a clash between first and second place. They have a top team, and so do we. It promises to be a fantastic game.”
Reflecting on Madueke’s Chelsea Transfer
Madueke’s transfer from Chelsea last summer sparked much discussion among fans. A petition against his £48.5 million move gathered over 4,000 signatures. However, the winger confirmed he has moved past that criticism.
“As a public figure, people are free to say what they wish about you,” he stated. “But the incredible way fans in the stadium have embraced me is truly unbelievable.”
Injury Comeback and Fan Support
The England international missed a significant portion of Arsenal’s season. He was absent for six of their twelve league matches. This followed a knee injury suffered in September’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
Madueke made his return after nine weeks out. He featured in the North London derby against Tottenham. He came on in the 78th minute of Arsenal’s 4-1 victory.
“The last game against Tottenham was incredible,” he recalled. “That experience gave me a huge boost. I play near the touchline. I can feel their presence; I can hear their cheers. Their positive support gives me a massive lift. Honestly, I am delighted about it.”
Focused on Arsenal’s Objective
Arsenal currently leads the Premier League table. They hold a six-point advantage over Chelsea. Madueke is keeping his attention firmly on the team’s goals, not individual narratives.
“The atmosphere might be hostile, or it might not,” he commented. “Regardless, I am a professional footballer. I have played in numerous challenging environments. I do not believe anything will faze me. My focus will remain on the task at hand.”
He concluded, “This fixture is not about me. It is about Arsenal securing another three points in the league. This will bring us closer to our main objective.”
