Reports indicate the girl’s parents are in custody. A woman, Ezenwanyi, is also detained. She allegedly orchestrated this union. Their arrests followed extensive public outcry.

The Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY) issued a statement. They commended the Enugu State Government. The Ministry of Gender Affairs and the police were also praised. This was for their prompt intervention.
