The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State, conducted Sunday services. This happened just days after a violent attack on its premises.
The recent assault resulted in two deaths. Additionally, 38 individuals were abducted by suspected terrorists.

Resilience: Congregation Gathers After Attack
Social media videos showed congregants calmly listening to their pastor. His sermon encouraged courage and faith.
This service occurred shortly after the community’s traumatic event.
Pastor Encourages Steadfast Faith
The pastor addressed the congregation. He spoke about fear, death, and divine promises.
He shared a message of comfort during his sermon:
“I’m going to prepare a place for you and I will come back so that you can join me where I am… He has promised us eternal life, let us not fear death. Wherever/whenever death comes, do not deny Jesus. If you do not deny Jesus, His promise is for you.”
He assured members that attackers would face divine judgment. He stated:
“Those criminals will receive the judgement of God. God is patient with us all so that we may all repent. God wants our repentance and this may be the only thing delaying the second coming of Jesus.”
Acknowledging Victims as Martyrs
The pastor honored the two deceased members as martyrs. He emphasized the spiritual meaning of their sacrifice.
He declared:
“Regarding those that have been killed, I want you to rejoice that they died at the foot of Jesus. Theirs is the death of the righteous. Anybody who gets killed because of the Gospel of Christ is a martyr. In the Bible, we’re made to understand that the death of martyrs is avenged. Their bloods will cry out for vengeance.”
His message offered comfort and encouragement to congregants. Many were visibly shaken by the attack.
Faith and Resilience Displayed
Despite lingering fear and trauma, CAC members returned. They worshipped peacefully.
A social media video captured scenes from the service, showcasing the community’s unwavering faith.
