Nigerian actress Etinosa Idemudia has expressed that acting requires more dedication and endurance than engineering, based on her personal experience in both fields.
In a recent appearance on the Bold Enough To Say It podcast, Idemudia highlighted that acting is a highly demanding profession that is often underestimated by those outside the industry. She emphasized that actors face long hours, unpredictable schedules, and significant emotional investment in their roles.
Idemudia urged fellow actors not to be discouraged by people from other professions who might belittle their work. She stressed the importance of recognizing the value of their craft and maintaining confidence in their profession.
She shared, “I have been an engineer and I have been an actor. No offense to my colleagues in engineering, but I dare say that being an actor is much more tasking. It’s a crazy kind of work. It’s a mad people’s work.”
She further advised actors not to be affected by critics who finish work at 5 PM and then criticize those working longer hours. She stated, “Don’t let those people that close by five PM come and be insulting us.”
