Laila Charani, the fifth wife of Nigerian billionaire and politician Ned Nwoko, has publicly accused her co-wife Regina Daniels of introducing her to narcotics, almost destroying her marriage six years ago. The explosive allegations surfaced during an Instagram confrontation regarding Daniels’ claim of providing Charani with financial support.
Charani vehemently denied receiving money from the actress, challenging Daniels to publicly compare their bank records. “How dare you say you ever gave me money?” Charani stated. “We should show Nigerians our bank accounts to see who receives payments.”
The crux of Charani’s accusations centered on substance abuse. She revealed Ned Nwoko maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against drugs, alcohol, and smoking. According to Charani, this principled stance explains the current conflict between Daniels and their husband.
“The only reason you’re fighting my husband is his insistence you stop your drug and alcohol addiction,” Charani asserted. She emphasized Nwoko’s personal abstinence from substances and his refusal to accept such habits in his wives.
Charani disclosed her own struggle began when Daniels allegedly introduced her to drugs. “I almost lost my marriage when you introduced me to drugs six years ago,” she revealed. “My husband’s immediate intervention rescued me from that dark path.”
The fifth wife further accused Daniels of being a “bad influence” who distributed drugs to household staff and even her younger sister Destiny. Charani expressed grave concerns about Daniels’ alleged behavioral patterns, stating she wouldn’t allow unsupervised contact between Daniels and her daughters.
Concluding her statement, Charani urged Daniels to seek professional help for addiction, marking a dramatic escalation in the ongoing public feud within Nigeria’s most discussed polygamous family.
