Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has arrived at the Super Eagles training camp in Morocco. His addition strengthens Nigeria’s squad ahead of their crucial World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.
Osimhen reported on November 11, just two days before the qualifier. His arrival brings the total players in camp to 23. Only Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye remains absent from the Rabat camp.
Key players already present include captain William Troost-Ekong. Also training are Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze. Tolu Arokodare, Moses Simon, and Raphael Onyedika complete the squad.
Training sessions have intensified as Thursday’s match approaches. The Nigeria vs Gabon showdown kicks off at 5pm Nigerian time. Venue is Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.
Troost-Ekong Highlights Gabon Threat
Captain Troost-Ekong identified Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the main danger. “Gabon is a strong team,” the defender stated. “Aubameyang leads from the front and troubles defenders.”
He added, “I’ve faced him in Saudi Arabia and know his quality. We won’t underestimate any African opponent, especially Gabon.” The Panthers are competing for a 2026 World Cup qualification spot.
