Barau FC forward Nana Abraham has confirmed his recovery following injuries sustained during violent clashes that disrupted his team’s Matchday 12 encounter against Katsina United. The player expressed appreciation for his medical team’s care while condemning the incident as contrary to football’s spirit.
Nana Abraham Condemns Football Violence
“I’m feeling much better now thanks to our excellent medical staff,” Abraham stated in a club interview. He expressed dismay at the attack, emphasizing football’s non-violent nature. “It’s unacceptable. Football isn’t warfare – you win, lose, or draw. We’ve had varied results at home without incident. Why attack us here?”
Nasarawa United’s Home Draw Frustration
Meanwhile, Nasarawa United coach Mbwas Mangut voiced disappointment after his team’s 1-1 draw against Kwara United at home. An early goal by Anas Yusuf in the 2nd minute was canceled by Aule Johnmark’s 36th-minute equalizer.
“This isn’t the result we wanted,” Mangut told club media. “Dropping points before our supporters is painful, especially considering our performances and expectations.” The coach attributed the result to player fatigue from a congested fixture schedule.
Mangut explained: “Exhaustion affected us. We’ve played multiple matches in quick succession – away in Port Harcourt, Thursday in Lafia, and now this. The demanding schedule reduced our usual energy and intensity levels.” Despite the setback, Nasarawa United maintains its position atop the NPFL table.
