Galadima Calls Obi‑Kwankwaso Ticket a ‘Healing Ticket’
Buba Galadima, a senior figure in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has labelled the presidential partnership between Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso a “healing ticket.” He argues that the alliance is specifically crafted to help Nigerians move past historical grievances and address the nation’s deep‑seated divisions.
According to Galadima, the ticket’s primary goal is to bridge the gap between the North and the South‑East, encouraging Nigerians to view Obi not as an ethnic representative but as a leader for the entire country.
He stated, “It is our belief that this is the only ticket that can salvage Nigeria. Not only salvage it, but it is a ticket we call the ‘healing ticket,’ designed so that we can forget the past.”
Efforts to Reduce Regional Tensions
Galadima noted that the Kwankwasiyya movement has spent more than two years fostering dialogue between southern and northern regions. He said these efforts have already eased tensions and opened channels for constructive conversation.
Policy Priorities Promised by Obi
He added that Peter Obi has committed to focusing on three core areas if elected president: security, agriculture, and education. Obi further promised to involve members of the Obi‑Kwankwaso alliance in tackling these challenges.
“Peter Obi has agreed that if he becomes the President of Nigeria, he will not only address these three issues personally, but he will make us part of those who will work on these issues,” Galadima said.
Unity Over Ethnicity and Religion
While acknowledging that ethnic and religious politics have contributed to Nigeria’s fractures, Galadima insisted the Obi‑Kwankwaso ticket transcends such identities.
“This ticket is not about Igbos, Hausas, Yorubas, Islam, or Christianity. This ticket is about Nigeria,” he declared.
