Bala Sade Confirms Support for Seyi Makinde’s Leadership
Bala Adamu Ibrahim, widely known as Bala Sade, said he accepted the Allied Progressive Movement’s vice‑presidential nomination because he trusts Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s ability to lead Nigeria.
Speaking to Daily Trust, the Bauchi‑born politician described Makinde as a close friend and long‑time political associate, adding that the nomination is a personal honour and a historic milestone for his community and Bauchi State.
Ibrahim noted that he is the first indigene of Sade District in Darazo Local Government Area to be nominated for such a high national office, a development that fills his hometown and the state with pride.
He expressed optimism that the APM ticket will give Nigerians a credible alternative in the 2027 presidential election.
Background checks show the 51‑year‑old is the son of a retired local government forestry supervisor, began his career in the civil service before 1999, and later served as Senior Special Assistant on Youth Development and Election Matters under former Governor Isa Yuguda.
After leaving public service, Ibrahim entered politics, running twice for the Bauchi State House of Assembly on the PDP platform between 1999 and 2003, and later built business interests in Abuja, Kano and Oyo while keeping strong ties to his hometown.
Associates say his relationship with Makinde goes back years; one source revealed he once worked as an aide to the Oyo governor, spending considerable time in Ibadan and now residing mostly in Oyo State.
