A Nigerian lady named J bums revealed that her spouse took a temporary role in her business following his dismissal as a pilot, noting that the situation actually reinforced their marital bond.
In an interview with Diary of a Niaja Girl (DANG), she explained that her partner remained unemployed for eleven months after being let go, prompting him to work in her enterprise as he looked for new employment.
“He previously worked as a pilot before being let go. For eleven months he was jobless, so he joined my firm and received a wage. He advised that we needed to lower our costs, which meant selling one of our two vehicles and cutting back on household help.”
She emphasized that, although he became an employee of her company, he continued to participate in family decision‑making and assumed additional duties to aid both the business and their household.
She noted that he managed deliveries for several of her clients and refused to let pride hinder his contributions during his period of unemployment.
“Following that discussion, he assumed extra chores at home and occasionally delivered goods for my clientele. I remained mindful of my words and actions toward him, recognizing that, despite his employee status, he remained my spouse and the head of our family,” she added.
Her account has generated online discussion, with numerous commentators applauding the pair for their cooperation, humility and mutual respect during a challenging time, whereas others view it as a model of genuine marital partnership.
