Braga Secures Teenage Defender Adebisi Olamikun
Portuguese club Sporting Braga have completed the signing of 18‑year‑old Nigerian defender Adebisi Olamikun from newly promoted NPFL side Inter Lagos.
Inter Lagos announced the transfer on their official X account on Sunday, July 12, bringing an end to the youngster’s spell with the Lagos‑based team.
Reports indicate Olamikun has agreed to a long‑term contract worth around €50,000 and has already arrived in Portugal, where he will join Braga’s youth setup while pushing for a place in the senior squad.
According to Transfermarkt, Olamikun becomes the eighth Nigerian to represent Braga, following former Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile, who was part of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations‑winning side.
Arokodare Snubs Trabzonspor Move
Meanwhile, Nigeria international striker Tolu Arokodare has reportedly turned down an approach from Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor despite renewed interest from the Black Sea side.
The 25‑year‑old is expected to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer after the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
Trabzonspor submitted an official bid for the forward, but Sky Sports reports that Arokodare is unwilling to relocate to Turkey, preferring to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Serie A outfit Fiorentina have also been monitoring the striker, although their initial loan offer was rejected by Wolves as it fell below the club’s valuation.
Arokodare remains under contract at Molineux until 2029, with Wolves holding the option to extend the deal by an additional year.
