Onanuga Confirms Tinubu-Shettima 2027 APC Ticket
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has confirmed that Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as Tinubu’s running mate for the 2027 elections.
Onanuga made the announcement in a brief statement on his 𝕏 account on Friday, putting an end to ongoing speculation about the presidential ticket.
He stated that Tinubu and Shettima will fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential race.
The confirmation followed a formal declaration by the APC’s national leadership earlier the same day, which named Shettima as the running mate to President Tinubu.
The stakeholders’ meeting, attended by members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) led by Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma, also endorsed the decision.
Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, announced Tinubu and Shettima as the APC’s presidential and vice‑presidential candidates for 2027.
APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda likewise affirmed the party’s choice to field the incumbent president and his vice president in the upcoming election.
