Tinubu Keeps Shettima as Running Mate for 2027 Election
The Presidency has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu will retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 general election.
A photo shared by Dada shows Tinubu and Shettima together, with the caption that the duo will remain united through 2031.
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, also affirmed the party’s decision to field Tinubu and Shettima in the upcoming presidential race.
In a statement released on Friday via his 𝕏 account, Yilwatda said the choice reflects the “collective resolve to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda and deepen the progress already being recorded across the country.”
He added that the nomination forms for Tinubu and Shettima were earlier submitted to the party by the President’s Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, during a well‑attended ceremony at the Continental Hotel in Abuja.
The APC National Chairman assured that the party remains focused on strengthening its grassroots base, consolidating the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda, and working toward a more prosperous, secure and inclusive Nigeria.
