A woman identified as Miss Sandra has attracted widespread attention after recounting how a man she met on TikTok gave her a car barely two weeks after they began talking.
In a viral video, Sandra described meeting the man on the platform and quickly becoming friends.
She noted their chats were casual, with him occasionally mentioning the distance between them.
During one conversation, he questioned why she didn’t own a vehicle, to which she replied that you can’t simply walk into a store and request a car, and they both laughed.
The topic resurfaced when Sandra faced banking difficulties that required a trip to her Utako, Abuja branch, which she said was far from her home.
After estimating a ride cost of nearly ₦13,000, she jokingly said she needed a car.
He asked if she’d like one, and she playfully responded that she’d accept if someone gave her one, assuming he was joking.
Two days later, he called unexpectedly and inquired about the type of car she preferred.
She told him she wasn’t knowledgeable about cars, so any model would suit her, and they laughed again, still thinking he wasn’t serious.
Sandra said the situation shifted when he later asked for her address, claiming he wanted to send her a gift.
Expecting a small present—perhaps snacks given her love for doughnuts and ice cream—she was surprised when a delivery agent arrived with a vehicle.
Upon stepping outside, she saw a car; the man informed her it was hers, and the paperwork bore her name.
She admitted feeling excited and thankful, even starting the engine to hear its sound before expressing gratitude.
However, her enthusiasm faded after she told friends and family about the gift.
One friend urged her to return the automobile because she barely knew the giver; her mother and siblings echoed the sentiment, cautioning against accepting such a costly present from someone she’d known only two weeks.
Sandra later phoned the man to thank him while explaining her discomfort accepting the vehicle.
“I really appreciate the gesture, but it’s too much. We’ve just met and aren’t officially dating,” she said.
According to her, he replied that he wasn’t interested in dating; his aim was marriage, and he was willing to wait for her to get to know him properly.
This response left Sandra even more torn: one friend insisted she keep the car, another advised returning it, and her family also recommended declining the gift.
Concluding her video, Sandra confessed she felt both thrilled and bewildered, asking viewers for advice.
“Right now I’m confused, yet happy. What do you think—should I return it or keep it?” she asked.
