Tambuwal Welcomes ADC Vice‑Presidential Nominee Amaechi, Calls Court Ruling a Boost for Party Unity
Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, welcomed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice‑presidential candidate, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, on Thursday. Tambuwal described the meeting as a significant step toward strengthening the party in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Tambuwal congratulated Amaechi on his emergence as the ADC’s vice‑presidential nominee and expressed confidence that the former Rivers State governor’s extensive public‑service experience would greatly enhance the party’s quest to provide credible leadership for Nigeria.
The discussion also covered efforts to build a united and inclusive political platform capable of tackling the nation’s challenges while deepening democratic governance. Tambuwal emphasized that such unity is essential for presenting Nigerians with a trustworthy alternative founded on justice, inclusion, competence, and national renewal.
Tambuwal further welcomed the recent Federal High Court judgment that affirmed the legitimacy of the Senator David Mark‑led leadership of the ADC. He characterised the ruling as a victory for the rule of law and constitutional democracy, noting that it eliminated the legal uncertainties that had clouded the party’s leadership.
“The judgment has effectively laid to rest all legal uncertainties surrounding the party’s leadership, allowing members to devote their full attention to strengthening the ADC and presenting Nigerians with a credible alternative founded on justice, inclusion, competence and national renewal,” Tambuwal stated.
He urged all party members to remain united and committed to the ADC’s ideals, expressing optimism that collective efforts would bolster Nigeria’s democracy and advance the aspirations of the populace.
Tambuwal reiterated that the party must stay focused on offering Nigerians a credible alternative anchored on justice, inclusion, competence, and national renewal.
