Akor Adams Shares Joy of First Nigeria Goal, Credits Osimhen's Support

Nigerian forward Akor Adams expressed his delight after scoring his first goal for the Super Eagles during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, calling it a dream come true.

Adams, who plays for Sevilla, came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute of the match against Lesotho and made an immediate impact by scoring the decisive goal. The goal came from a well-executed pass by Victor Osimhen, highlighting their on-field chemistry.

After the match, Adams took to Instagram to share his emotions and acknowledge Osimhen’s role not only in the game but also during a challenging period in his career. He revealed that Osimhen had been a source of encouragement when Adams was struggling for form while playing for Norwegian club Sogndal shortly after the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Adams shared a private message he had sent to Osimhen asking for advice, and the positive response he received. This interaction, Adams noted, was a testament to Osimhen’s character beyond his footballing abilities.

With his first international goal now recorded, Adams is poised to take on a more prominent role as Nigeria continues its campaign to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
