A faction of Nigeria’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has named Senator Mao Ohuabunwa as chairman of its reconstituted Board of Trustees. The announcement came during a Friday meeting at Wike’s Abuja residence, where acting National Chairman Abdulrahman Muhammad also appointed Isah Dansidi as BoT secretary, replacing former Kaduna governor Ahmed Makarfi.
Muhammad explained the dissolution aimed to restore constitutional order within the party. He criticized the previous BoT leadership under Adolphus Wabara for losing moral credibility. This followed Wabara’s alleged suspension by Abia State PDP for anti-party activities.
